Kenny Chesney – Life on a Rock

Kenny Chesney released “Life on a Rock” yesterday. It has a very islandy feel and tune to the album. So far “Pirate Flag” and “Spread the Love” are my favorites. “Spread the Love” makes you feel like you should be floating on a boat out in the Caribbean with a cocktail and friends. Kenny’s sending all of his proceeds from digital single sales of “Spread The Love” from the new album to Boston Medical Center for prosthetics and treatment for the bombing victims. It’s a big Summer for Kenny as he releases his new line of Rum, Blue Chair Bay Rum later this month.

Wet Bathing Suit Bags

I love the beach and I love traveling! Since I love the water I always have a wet bikini to tote home from my trips to the beach or on vacation. Here are some cute solutions to bringing home your wet bikini from your summer fun! :)

Paddle Board Yoga

I have always had an interest in Paddle Boarding. Ive seen it on tv and people paddling along the ocean. Last week a friend of mine posted on Facebook that she was going to a Paddle Board Yoga class. I can’t say I really enjoy yoga on land but thought this is my first chance to get on a board.

I signed up and paid my $25 fee. I met her at a dock called “Dinky Dock” in Winter Park, FL. Paddleboard Orlando was running the show and we had an awesome instructor by the name of Julie.

We had a quick instruction on how to use the paddle board since we were both new. They sized us up to the correct board and off we went. I was surprised at how easy it was to paddle and my arms didn’t get sore like they do in a canoe!

After paddling to a different lake we began to do some basic yoga moves. My friend Heidi and I both extremely loved it! Our instructor told us exactly where to place our feet so that we didn’t fall off our board. I did take one tumble into the water but it felt great because it was hot out!

I am looking forward to going on some beach trips and paddle boarding there with this group. Everyone was extremely nice and helpful! They take day trips over to the beach and paddle through the intercoastal and sometimes on the beach.

I have to admit that I don’t like to exercise! Being able to combine my love for the water and exercise is perfect for me! I am trying to figure out when I can go again!

Kenny Chesney Concert Goin’ Coastal Tampa, FL

On Saturday March, 19th we headed south to Tampa from Orlando for the Kenny Chesney Goin’ Coastal concert. We left Orlando in plenty of time to arrive at Raymond James Stadium to tailgate with the other fans. Our drive should have been a little over an hour but due terrible traffic it took us three hours to get there. It was the worst Orlando to Tampa traffic Ive ever experienced and Ive lived here my whole life.

We thought the concert started at 4 pm but when we arrived we realized it started at 4:30 pm. We went in the stadium and found our seats. We were at about the 50 yard line with a decent view.

If you have been to a Kenny Chesney concert before you know he doesn’t normally come out on the stage. I saw where he was going to come out of on a swing and let the rest of the group know that they shouldn’t have their eyes on the stage when his song starts playing.

Sure enough… he rose up on a swing and it took him to the stage. This was one of the best Kenny Chesney concerts I’ve been to. This was my 8th KC concert and first stadium KC concert.

Uncle Cracker, Billy Currington, Zac Brown Band and Kenny Chesney played for over 6.5 hours. You might think that’s a long concert but it flew by. We made friends with all the rows around us, so the concert was over before we knew it.

If you haven’t been to a Kenny Chesney concert it’s well worth the cost and/or drive to go and see him. Now I need to work on SandBar tickets for his Jacksonville date in May! :)

Happy St. Patricks Day

Since I’m a beach girl I enjoy refreshing cocktails over beer. I don’t expect to drink any Irish Car Bombs or green beer tonight.

Here is a great recipe for a “green” drink that isn’t your usual St. Patricks Day drink.

Green Sangria

1 bottle Pinot Grigio
1 1/2 ounce Midori melon liqueur
1/2 green apple, cored and sliced
1/2 lime, sliced
1/4 English cucumber, sliced
10 mint leaves
1/2 kiwi fruit, peeled and sliced
Club soda to taste

Combine all ingredients except club soda in a pitcher and refrigerate for a minimum of two hours and a maximum of eight hours. For individual servings, spoon some of the fruit into a wine glass before pouring and then top off with a splash of club soda, diet lemon-lime soda or diet ginger ale to taste.

Kenny Chesney Goin’ Coastal Tour About to Kick-Off

I have been traveling to various cities to see Kenny Chesney since 2003. Kenny is kicking off his Goin’ Coastal tour St. Patricks Day in West Palm Beach. I am attending his first stadium concert of the series at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa this Saturday March 19th. Ten of us paid a hefty $150 each for our tickets! I am not sure that we will make it down in time for tailgating but I am sure we will make up the drinking once were inside the stadium.  Here are a few photos from our previous Kenny Chesney concerts.

Long Summer Days are Coming!

I get excited around this time of year when we can put the sweaters and jeans in the back of the closet and bring out the bikinis, shorts and flip flops.

I live in Florida so the shorts and flip flops are always in arms reach because we don’t have too many cold winters here.

This Saturday night (Sunday morning) at 2 am we will fast forward our clocks one hour! That makes me excited! Instead of getting dark around 6 pm…. it will start getting dark around 8 pm. That means longer days at the pool and beach! :) This makes my sole smile! :)

I’m ready for long summers at the beach with friends, sitting at the bar all day…  until the sun goes down with a nice tropical drink!

Bath and Body Works Hawaii Coconut Lotion

I finally found a lotion that completely reminds me of the beach! Every time I wear it I get compliments of how I smell like a walking vacation to the beach! If you haven’t smelled it yet, get to your local Bath and Body Works and put a sample of it on! It comes as a lotion, body scrub, shower gel and lotion!

Beach Themed Cakes

I ran across a cute picture of a beach themed cake so I decided to look up some more. Here are some cute ones I found. The creators of these cakes are very talented. I tried not to include any wedding beach cakes, just fun ones. Enjoy!
